Line Dancing Tip: Start in the Middle!

Hello everyone! Today I'm starting a new feature and that is tips for line dancing! Each week I'll try to send a tip for beginners.

This week's tip is to "Start in the Middle"

If you are new to a dance and want to have the best chance of learning it and having fun, you want to position yourself in the middle of the dance floor. I know this might sound scary, but the middle is the best place to start because most dances face at least two different walls, if not all four. This means that anyone on the outside or in the back of the floor will eventually be in the front!

So, today's tip is start in the middle...you will always have someone to follow and will learn much quicker.

Chabot College - 4 Week Series

Chabot College Community EducationThere is some pretty exciting news that I have to share with you tonight! This coming Saturday, I start a class at a college!

Here's the description from the college site:

"Join Adam the Dancing Cowboy for fun and easy line dance lessons! This is a beginning class with no experience necessary, but continuing line dancing students are welcome, too! In this four-session class, you will learn the basic steps and put them together to form many popular line dances, including the Electric Slide, Tush Push, and Watermelon Crawl. After this class, you’ll be able to use what you learned to go line dancing at the many places in the Bay Area."

Spots seem to still be available, so sign up if you live near Hayward!

Rodeo Club - Men in Black / Cowboy Cha Cha

SAN JOSE, CA - On Friday Mar 13th, I will be teaching line dance lessons at The Rodeo Club in San Jose! The lessons will be "Men in Black" and "Cowboy Cha Cha". We make sure to break down the lessons into easy to learn parts and then put them together for a fun learning experience!

KRTY is having a "Change Your Luck in 2009" party because it's Friday the 13th, so come enjoy the fun and prizes!

Doors open at 7p and lessons start at 7:30p.
